AKA MOON - OPUS 111
Aka Moon est l’une des formations les plus étonnantes de la scène belge du jazz. Pour leur nouveau projet, Fabrizio Cassol s’est immergé dans la sonate 32 de l’Opus 111 pour piano, une des œuvres majeures de Beethoven. Inspiré par la puissance rythmique de cette sonate, Aka Moon met les bouchées doubles et transforme le trio en sextet. La présence du chanteur Fredy Massamba, avec sa force expressive de story-teller africain, s’ancre dans ce projet par le biais des relations épistolaires que Beethoven entretenait alors.
C’est à travers ces résonances multiples que Fabrizio souhaite approcher cette sonate, pour synchroniser des espaces émotionnels au-delà des époques, des cultures, des points de vues sociaux ou esthétiques…

Aka Moon is one of the most astonishing bands on the Belgian jazz scene.
For their new project, Fabrizio Cassol has immersed himself in Sonata 32 from Opus 111 for piano, one of Beethoven’s major works.
Inspired by the rhythmic power of this piano sonata by Beethoven, Aka Moon pulls out all the stops and transforms the trio into a sextet.
The presence of the singer Fredy Massamba, with his expressive force as an African story-teller, is anchored in this project through the epistolary relations that Beethoven maintained at the time. It is through these multiple resonances that Fabrizio wishes to approach this sonata, to synchronize emotional spaces beyond eras, cultures, social or aesthetic points of view…
