MARIA MAZZOTTA (ITALIE)

ENGLISH

Maria Mazzotta is one of the most acclaimed voices on the European world music scene. After several years, she is back in Huy. She is proudly and fervently representing the colours of the tarantella and the Southern Italian culture. We follow her journey with much curiosity since her entering the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino up until her more recent projects. Her deep and powerful performance is an immersive experience for the listener who takes part in her ‘ritual’ with emotion and passion. This year, Maria Mazzotta is working on a new album and will give us a preview, as a trio, with Cristiano Della Monica playing the percussions and Ernesto Nobili playing the electric guitar. Be aware! Change is in the air! And that’s what we like about her: she’s audacious. For this project, the post-rock textures will meet the roots and Maria Mazzotta’s visceral interpretation for an original, intense and deep combination that’s a must-see.
