AUSTER LOO COLLECTIVE

ENGLISH

Auster Loo is, originally, a duo made up of Simon Leleux, specialist of the oriental percussions (doholla, bendir, composition) and the versatile flute player Lydie Thonnard (flute, singing), joined together by a common passion for rhythm and improvisation. For some time now, the duo has become a collective and will play as a quintet for the occasion. The setar and the Iranian voice blend with the flute and the classical double bass, the strings of the koto (Japanese harp) and the shamisen (Japanese banjo) meet the percussions of the Middle East. This encounter generates a colourful, powerful and contemporary music. The meeting of the traditions is an integral part of the artistic approach of the project led by Simon Leleux.
